windows me desktop help

i have a question. i never really noticed this in 98.. but i did in ME.... and it's annoying...... there is a white area in the top left corner or my desktop...... but when i open a window and move it there and move it around then close the window the white goes awa for a while.. but comes back in a few minutes........

anyone know how to fix this?

I am running WinME and don't have this problem. Painting your screen is a function of the video card and its drivers and/or the monitor. It looks like what is refered to as an artifact. The pixels in that area are not being painted for whatever reason. Try upgrading the drivers for your video card. Also you can install the standard vga driver that comes with windows and see if the problem is still there. If it isn't your driver is the prob. If it is I would try to obtain another monitor (from a friend or whatever) and see if the prob exists there. I think with one of these test the prob will go away.

it appears that this little white dot is the very first pixel...do you have it with the video games etc you play...if not check the screen size in the video game and see if it is the same as the settings in your desktop...if not get a video game that will size to the desktopsize then see if it is still there... if it isnt there then you know it is a windows problem...deguass your monitor...that may help...try changing your desktop size... go smaller /bigger if it is still in the first pixel...no matter what the size... you got monitor or vid card problems...what controls your screen size the monitor or vidcard ???this is such a picky situation try these and lket me know what happens and we might be able to pinpoint the problem

that's kazaas ad window. close kazaa and it goes away. pretty sneaky if you ask me.

I have KAZAA on Win98SE and WinME, and it never happened to me

happens to me as soon as I open it up. I closed it manually once but i forget what it was called. I know i saw somewhere somebody complainin about it, like on the kazaa forums and somebody said it was cydoors adserver or monitor or whatever.
