I just formatted and installed Win98_SE (going to do a dual-boot with Win2k). I fired up Prime95, but in CPU-Cool it only showed cpu load to be 60%. In Win2k it was 100%. Is there a setting I forgot about that might do this?

Specs:
TBird 1.33Ghz @ 1.6Ghz (145Mhz fsb)
Abit KT7a
256Mb Crucial at fastest memory settings
GeForce3 @ 240/560

I have not seen any settings in Windows 98 that need to be changed to use 100% of the CPU power....Seems like an incorrect reading from your software.

you can go to the prime95 webpage and see if your bench marks are the same as what your getting if they are your useing the full cpu load.

try diffent software like mbm or something like that.

this one (http://www.iarsn.com/downloads) is pretty good. It tells you what is using how much of cpu% and its accurate as far as i know. plus, it's free!:)

or you could just not dual boot. I used to dual boot but stoped because I couldn't stand 98.
