here's my problem:
i have 2 partitions on my harddrive and they're both NTFS. i want to go back to windowsME (i'm running on XP right now, boots too slow) does anyone know how i can format my 1st partition back to FAT32 and the 2nd one just convert it cause i have data in my second partition that i dont wanna lose. if anyone can help that would be great. thanks

Buy a copy of Partition Magic.

you can go from ntfs to fat32... but not back. I heard someone say here that they had used Partition Magic 7 and they were able to go from ntfs to fat32... I cannot confirm this tho.

i already tried PM7. i got an error of some sort. can anyone help? if i format to FAT32 using another comp and just format this HD will i be able to read the NTFS HD from windowsME after having reinstalled it?
No... widows Me won't read ntfs. At least as we speak.. sorry.

You could resize your OS partition to be very small and the format the rest as fat32, then move the data over to that one...
Or, if you have another system, you could use file sharing to transfer the files over.

Find a buddy with another HD...connect it to your system and ghost over all the files. Refomat your drive and then ghost back your data. I have used this method and the system boots up just like before only the partition is now Fat32.
