is it worth geting a better brand of ram if im not gonna oc the memory or need warnty

im wondering is it worth it to get a higher end ram like geil or gskill or will budget ram be the same if i dont oc,or need a good warrenty.

If you aren't overclocking, go for the budget ram indeed :p But if you are, OCZ and Gskill has one of the best warranties and tech support available to date :)

there are small differences in speed between different rams at the same speed and timings. however you'd never notice it. if you're going to run stock go cheap.

Go cheap, but don't go absurdly cheap. Saving $10 by going with Bob's Discount Ram over a brand you know and can trust isn't a great idea. You don't know if you're going to need a warranty or not until something screws up (like getting a stick in the mail that fails to run at stock speeds for whatever reason), and when that happens, you'll be really glad you've got it.

Kingston, OCZ, Corsair, Mushkin, and G.skill all have very nicely priced value ram along with warranties to back their products up.

If you're not OC'ing you don't need to pay that much for ram. However, you should go with name brand memory for the warranty. You never know when a stick can fail on you. In all my builds, ram was the single component that had the highest failure rate.

NEVER EVER buy generic ram.
Definitely buy the cheaper value ram, but only from brand name companies.

If you buy generic ram, you are going to have problems. If you don't recognize the name, then don't buy it.
