Looking for some software....

I'm looking for some software that would render a partition read-only without a given password from the local machine (basically, I want to keep anyone from screwing up the C:\ on the machine and I've made a D:\ partition for music, games, etc)

Anyone know of a good (free) program that'll do this? TIA

i think you will need a restore card for this?
it resets your computer back to the point where you set this card to kick in once you restart

i think what you're talking about is centaurion guard, but i don't really want one of those, i'm looking for more of a software solution....
