OH NOS.................,,,.../ S0M3ON3 ST0L3D MY S0UND!!!!!!!1111oneoneoneeleven

Well, first off, I contemplated posting this in the sound section, but since it could be anything, a hardware issue, drivers, etc. I thought it best to post here.

My problem is, my headphone jack on my CD-RW drive is not operational. I did some googling and the best I could find was to disable digital audio for the drive then disable digital audio and switch it to analog in windows media player. I tried that and had no success. I also tried that 4 pin audio cable that goes from the CD-drive to my soundcard (for me my motherboard's crappy AC 97 audio), and had no success either.

If anyone knows what I could do to get my headphone port working, that would be great. Thanks. :)

im betting that its the 4 pin cd audio cable that you need to use, and you might have just plugged it in backwards or something - generally if you want sound through your optical drive's headphone jack, you need to have that wire plugged into your cd-audio port on your motherboard and on your drive

try unplugging all but your ide(orSATA) cable. I think its sort of a legacy thing from when computers didnt have sound cards.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I have tried it without the cable, with the cable, the cable reversed on the motherboard side, on the cd drive side, both, neither. Just about any imagionable combination with the cable has proved to be unsuccessful.

Oh wait a sec! I havn't tried every combination with the 4 pin cable ever since I disabled digital output. Maybe I will try that when I get home tonight.
