um how exactly do i install this btw im runng on xp

Memtest86+

Use Memtest86+. Follow the above link and d'load the precompiled package for floppy. Extract the files and you will make a bootdisk to leave in your floppy drive when you reboot your system. Make sure that your floppy is the first boot device and Memtest86+ will start automatically.

Just download this:
http://www.memtest86.com/memt32.zip

Extract these files onto a Floppy and run the file named "Install" FROM THE FLOPPY. It will write the memtest kernel onto your floppy.

Goto the BIOS, set first boot device as the FDD and reboot.
Done!
