XP locks up when taking permission of another users files.

I created another admin user because my original primary login admin account was locking up ammediatly upon load.

Now im assuming i need to reinstall
but first i need to backup my files

but of course the sytem locks up when im trying to take permission

any ideas?
how could everything associated with this user be corrupt?

how can i get my files back!!!

If you slap that drive in another computer as a slave you should be able to copy out the files I think.

First of all, why do you need two usernames? Pick one and I'll make it go away.

Second, the above advice to throw the drive in another machine might be your best bet.
