My apologies if this has been covered already, but do you guys think it would be worth it to attempt to install a delta inside a millenium glaciator? I know the glaciator's fan is mounted inside, which would more than likely be irreversable once hacked on, but if it works as good as it does not, why not see what it can do with a whiney ass delta in it (along with a rheostat of course). I'm getting kind of desperate with this new Abit KT7A Raid bios (3R) unwillfully upping my temps +10 degrees. I tell ya, update the bios for 1.4 tbird support and get slapped with an extra 10 degrees on top of having to overclock it from the go just to reach 1.4 (1430 actually) stock speed! Man, I am not happy with Abit right now. Almost to the point of buying an Iwill KK266+ board. Thanks for any input fellas!

Upgrading the bios and the temp went up 10+. I don't think it's the actual temp that went up. Your CPU is still running the same temperature, it's just the reading of the temp that is incorrect. I have the same problme with my ASUS a7a266. Upgrading my bios and temp went up 10c as well, but the new bios should not make cpu hotter? Guys???

in some cases the BIOS actually does affect temp but it is only minute amounts, just due to more of less instruction the cpu had to process. maybe 1-2 degrees. But in a jump of 10c that is just an error in how hte BIOS gets its readings. I would not worry too much about it. Just get the viaq hardare monitor, or Motherboard Monitor 5 and get the corect temps.

MBM5 wont get the right temp, or I'am wrong but the temp from my bios are exactly the temp that mbm5 is reading...

and I have the lastest (rev 1.06 i tink) of a7a266 bios and the temp did'nt get 10C up

The 3R BIOS does not give halt commands for the CPU to idle & that is why idle temps are higher. This was something AMD wanted for 1.333GHz and up procs for stability. You can get the lower idle temp with WPCREDIT & WPCRSET by changing a certain value. Do a search on this forums for TranceBear's tutorial on it.
