Hey guys, I know I just made a post about which 3rd party brands are good for ATI cards, but I've also been doing a bit more looking around and am unsure which kind of video card I want.

Currently I'm running an ATI Radeon 9800 pro AGP... but i'm building a new computer when I get some money. The computer will be PCI-E and Socket 939 for max upgrading.

My first thought was to go ATI Radeon X800XL, since I like my current ATI card and have heard good things. Then I realized that SLI is NVIDIA only, which means I couldn't just add a second card later to upgrade.

I've heard some things about the nVidia 6800GT having some problems playing videos, and some other random complaints. However I've also read that it can overclock to beastly speeds, and I'm planning to OC on the new compy.

So I pose to yout this: Personal preferences. Please, no flaming or anything, just simple personal experiances on each of the cards and what you'd personallty do: ATI X800XL or nVidia 6800GT (possibly to go SLI later).
Also, I've heard the ATI version of SLI is coming out over the summer... will there be issues with programs accepting SLI, but not the ATI version?

Any help you guys could give would be awesome.

There are about 10 threads, or more, posted. A little more reading and you will have your answer.

Everyone is going to tell you something different.

Personally Id go for a 6800GT or Ultra if you have the $.

I have a regular 6800 non gt and I love it.No problems whatsoever.Best card I ever had and very very stable.
So I can only imagine how the great GT version must be.
