Just ordered the NF4 SLI-DR and found out my Antec TrueControl 550(20pin) isn't gonna cut it. :bang head
I want to keep the cost reasonable say under $140-ish for a replacement.
In comparing the Enermax EG651P-VEFM(24p) and the EG701AX-VE I noticed the EG701 has dual 12V lines , but the EG651 does not. Does that matter very much? Is it necessary to have dual 12 volt lines for keeping a loaded NF4 SLi-DR set up stable?
I'd much rather pay $122.50 vs $179.99 if the dual 12 volt lines aren't needed.

Thanks

Wrong section, ill just let the mods know for you.

How bout http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817104155]This?

It is a solid 520 watts, support PCI-E, and has 26a. I dont think dual lines is nessecary. A psu doesn't have to say SLI to be ok for SLI. Wait for other opinions but my vote would go for the modstream

The link doesn't work

The Antec TruePower 2.0 TP2-550 EPS12V ATX12V 550W does have dual 12 volt lines and it's only $110 at NEwegg.
I just want to know if this particular DFI board is picky with it's power supplies that's why I posted here to get some user experiences. :)

That's a good price. It doesn't have the dual 12 volt lines though.??

A 6800GT consumes 25w at full load. SO double that, thats 50 watts. I dont know if you have 6800GT's but i just read up on that. Looking at it, 12v rails would be a pure preassurance. It would provide stability for OC'ing. It would just reassure you i guess.

A guy said this http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?name=PS-S12-600 held up his SLI.

I'm thinking a PS with 2 SLI power connectors and dual 12 volt lines.
the Enermax Noisetaker EG701AX-VE-SFMA ATX 2.0 w/SLI 600W
looks promising--Now to find a decent price.

Thanks---

2 6800 ultras overclocked = 160 watts.
1 athlon 64 (venice or san diego) overclocked to 3.0 ghz at 1.6 volts = 70 watts.
1 gb of ram overclocked to 300 mhz at 2.8 volts = 30 watts.
2 400 gb hard drives = 40 watts.
1 nforce4 motherboard w/ overclocked chipset = 30 watts.

subtotal = 330 watts.

any non-defective psu with dual-12v lines rated 15a or over on each 12v line will power that setup without a problem, by definition. if it can't, the unit is defective.

The Enermax Noisetaker EG701AX-VE-SFMA ATX 2.0 w/SLI 600W is mine.
159$ and a 20 mail in rebate.
Dual 12 volt lines, dual sli connectors, Nvidia sli certified...blah blah blah and a decent price.
Thanks for the help. :)
