Heylo all

Got a Pentium 4 1.3 GHz. here (Serious Sam is the best):D , anyway it came with 128 MB RAM, I decided to add more memory, but when I opened it up, the memory sticks were huge on this thing. It is not SDRAM, I think it's called RDRAM.

The main question is does it have to be installed in pairs? The mobo has 4 slots 2 have 64MB sticks, and the other 2 have some kind of "bare bones (jumper?)" sticks. I have called around, and nobody has this stuff in stock. I wanna get between 128-256 MB more. Does it have to be Rambus RAM? Thanks.

P4 systems currently (and probably will never change) support only RAMBUS (RDRAM) memory.

As far as it having to be installed in pairs, I don't think so but then again, I don't own a P4 system (nor will I). RAMBUS shouldn't be hard to find. Most resellers sell it for around $99 per 256MB.

I think Serious Sam is pretty fun too. Haven't played it much after the first couple days I got it, though.

Yes they have to be installed in pairs. Those blank chips are "fillers" that have to be installed when no memeory is in there. There are 2 boards out now that use SDRAM with P-4/socket 478. DFI and Asus both have a board that does this. DDR with P-4 should be out soon, my vendor for MSI confirms this but no time frame is available.
