It's been said alot the past days..we are losing ground in numbers and production. Trying to gather large projects like schools or labs is cool, but those are rare and hard to find.

What if, using these forums, we would go for the small scale borging. If every active folding member would bring in two borgs, that'd be plenty to make up for the summer loss and maybe even start chasing [H].

I have started today. Using MSN, i already gathered two borgs among my friends. I will keep track of my progress in my signature, trying to inspire other members to do the same.

Like the idea? spread the word. Don't like it? come up with a better way tostimulate borging :D

I'm trying real hard to get my article published in the local art/rock paper. That might help a bit as i would assume that most readers are somewhat computer savy

One word/abreviation AAR!

Rank: Not officially involved with AAR

lol, but i get the idea. AAR needs alot of effort and time though, which people often don't want or can't spend. Promoting it by simply asking, and then sending the installer and a modified client.cfg woks fast and neat.

I have two more possible borgs coming this week. Also, mum is going t buy a laptop (dothan 1.5), so that one will surely kick in.

Didn't we have a thread somewhere that mentioned writing to the local paper? I may be doing something like that so that people will learn about the DC project... and hopefully join the folding community.

Dark... it's like this:

We are a team. Everyone in the team has particular talents that help the team. If you think that teaching people how to borg is a better method of getting people intrested into folding than AAR then that is up to you. I think each has its place in the team. Borging can produce some friendly competition, but AAR can produce a more teamwork oriented satistfaction because it takes multiple people coming up with one rig, and in that rig there will be much pride.

I don't understand how you can say "drop the AAR already." Would you also say "drop the borging already", because it is very rare to get a large borg?

We are a team and we need to support each other however we able, not shoot them down because we don't agree on the other's method.

Every bit helps. I got three borgs this week and will keep looking around. See what the score is by the end of this year or something.

If every active member borged two machines that run 12/5 we will catch up with [H] before the end of this year.

I know I can get one borg over the summer, and maybe more (have to talk to my employer; that also depends on whether they've upgraded their hardware).

I'm trying, I'm trying... but my school is so paranoid. I have yet to figure out how I can actually talk to the superintendent instead of the secretary... I really want those 30-60 P4 3.2 HT 2GB machines...
