View Full Version : Celeron 466, 83FSB
hi, i have a celeron 466 that runs at 525mhz 75fsb with no problems at all. the first time i tried 83fsb it bluescreened at windows after clicking OK on the microsoft networking window. the second time i tried it said:
"Windows has found errors in your registry and fixed them all"
while loading windows.
does anyone know what i can do to successfully boot at 83? i change the fsb in BIOS.
thanks.
500 to 550 is about max for those CPUs, besides, 83 FSB is really pushing the limit of your PCI bus. To have any chance of success, you'll need to do a lot of cooling mods and raise the CPU core voltage up a little. To be honest, that CPU is almost an antique.
better cooling is about it...my 500 ran stable at 600 with 80FSB but anything above was too high on the PCI bus and probably for the chip too
I'm lucky i got it running at 600 stable
I know that at 83Mhz the PCI bus is running a lot faster than it should, but that doesnīt seem to be the problem here.
According to the sympthoms described, Iīd say that your celly is maxing out.
I have a celly 400 that does 570/95. Anything above that is out of reach, causing the same errors you described above.
Works fine at 500/83 so , even knowing that systems may vary greatly, my guess is that youīve reached the end of the line.
Now thatīs sad, isnīt it ? :(

Correction :
I know that at 83MHz FSB the PCI bus is running a lot faster than it should(~41.5MHz)...
Wish my PCI would run at 83MHz ... ;)
