Because of me we no longer have Would71 on our team. I apologize, but something had to be done. I couldn't let his threats make me ignore the obvious.

I'm sure he would want all of you to know that it's because of me so I'm attaching the email he sent me informing me of this.

================

Oh yeah, I've been busy since you banned my accounts. Say hello to the
newest member of DSL Reports Team Helix. My machines, plus hopefully
Mindbender's 40 work PCs, shall be cranking out the WU for the team your
team worries most about. Told ya, the one condition that would get me to
stop Folding for OC.com was banning me on the forums. Instead of doing
the right thing and dealing with William properly, you just lost a whole
bunch of PCs. Boo-****ing-hoo. Ciao! :D

I'm sorry that that's what it came down to. I agree with Skip's decision something had to be done. I will be moving my 1.4 Tbird back over to try and help make up for some of the lost work units.

Peace

You did the right thing Skip. I still beleive that it is all about the folding. I WILL never leave my roots as an O/C.com senior member and I intend to NEVER let down my fellow overclockers here.

Skip, ...

(edited because I made it too long. Too much verbage. Let's just say I support your decision, and I applaud Hugo59's offer of more power!)

...As far as the the loss of Wouldy's computing power for the team, and anyone's who goes with him, well we haven't really lost it, have we? I assume they'll still be folding, and that's all that counts. The work will be done.

I definately feel much better about whether to continue to fold for oc.com.

I had always respected would and didn't know where this came from but it was making me an unenthusiastic folder.

I am confident we can put this behind us and keep folding for a cure.

I agree with what you did Skip. I just joined the team a few weeks ago and was honestly wondering what the heck was up in here. So much negativity and bickering. Honestly, the only reason I kept coming back to OC.com was because of how friendly everone had been and that it really felt like a community here. That is not to say that friends can't disagree, but it was getting a bit out of hand.

TT, you are not to blame. While there are certain expectations to being a team leader, I do not think that folding part time to help someone get going needed to be nearly what it turned in to.

What everyone should take solice in is that while 'we' lost Would, folding did not and that is ultimately why we do this. So, in the end humanity is still winning.

Oh, and I just added my PIII 500 laptop to the mix to try to help make up the loss.

Take care everyone and FOLD ON...

Today is a sad day. Would71 is a very knowledgable person. Outside of the folding forum, I saw a great wealth of information and help provided by Would. Unfortunantly he let his emotions get the better of him.

I read through quiet a few older posts where Would mentioned that the "competition" thing really annoyed him. Those posts make me question why he lost that attitude and became so competition minded recently.

Alas Skip, you made the right call IMHO. The profanity and personal attacks were getting way too out of hand. I remind eveyrone that the best policy when your mad and your typing is to sit back once your done. Let your thoughts clear and don't hit that send button....yet. Wait a little while, then read what you wrote again and see if you still want to leave everything alone. Most of the time, you find changes...it's human nature. When you get angry and you type, anger is all the spews forth from your head and fingers.

If you stay rational and give yourself a chance to cool-out a little, you'll be much happier....and in Would's case, possibly avoid getting banned.

HAHA
Would71 you sad person, do you think we really care your gone????

Would71 was always telling forum members and infact moderaters and Admin how to do the job properly as far as I'm concerned good ridance to him!

I'll be getting a few more machines going soon as well as laptop and some other thing I can find lying around!

GOOD CALL, he was damaging the team way too much.

Now I'll consider folding part time for oc.com again - at least to make up for some of the computing power Would71 took with him when he left the team.

Actaully you didn't kick him out - he threw himself out.

Up until the last week or so I had considered Would a pretty intelligent person, but for some reason let anger get the better of him. It's easy to do and very hard to overcome for many people...myself included.

I don't know the reason Would's anger got the better of him, but I understand the blindness anger causes. The result of all of this is the breakup of our community...I nearly left myself as I can't handle the negativity.

I got really mad over the weekend at someone I don't even know her name...and I'm still ****ed about it...all because of a comment she made to a comment I made...she been a man I'd have pummelled him.

It's emotions like that I am most afraid of...I've worked a long time to control my anger, but in doing so I bottle up emotions that errupt from time to time if I'm not careful.....I wonder just how similar Would and I are...?

hmmm oh well dunno how i got side tracked, but I'll leave it for whatever reason I felt the need to express it.

I'll miss the intelligent Would71, but I WILL NOT miss the antagonistic WOULD71.

Thanks, Skip. As a newer member of the team I was disheartened by the bickering and flaming. I joined oc.com because it was a friendly and helpful place. I saw this coming apart over the last few weeks to the point that I nearly left, despite being able to make a pretty fair contribution to the folding team. I think your decision to step in will have a calming effect.
TT120: Don't blame yourself. You too did a great job in trying to hold things together and get things moving in the right direction. Thanks. All the rest of you who helped keep the peace deserve credit too. And Hugo 59, thanks for coming back to help the team.

Let's all remember that whether you fold for fun, or competition, or to help humanity, or whatever, it's all good.

Fold on!
