Is it me or does it look like it was lied on its side when it says "This side up fragile" so I got kinda nervous and when I opened it up and took out the vapo this is what fell out

I did not break these in any way! I take a look at the unit amazingly there is no dents or any visable problems. So I got to remove the safty transport screws and whats this theres only 2 of em yay !! Lessons learned free isnt always better especially when your dealing with something that cost damn near 1k

Free shipping on a 43 pound package is great! There are so many packages going through the system, and it is sometimes hectic work. Although I don't want my packages being thrown around or anything. That sucks!

This box was left out in the rain by UPS. We did not cause any damage to the box!

From what I hear fragile means "Don't drop from higher then 3 ft" and no im not kidding.

its true i have freinds that work at ups , but not shipping dept, they really do throw those packages, and yeah frfagile means dont throw as far.. i had beef with ups also before when i sold 2 hds to a guy on the oc forum,, inthe classifieds which i no longer am aloud into, they were dmged in shipping and ups covers 100 no qustions asked, the rest over 100 is handled by inssurance agency and they do their own research on what it costs, or what they can get a hd for, not what you paid, those ********,, i lost money on this..

I woulda gone crazy if something was the matter with that thing, the thing that suprised me the most was that the foam that was holding the unit into place was non-existent it had just been crushed to bits.
I fail to see what you are complaining about.
You got a better than usual UPS service, and it didn't cost you anything!

ups is not a vendor..
if you have anything valuable or fragile you learn how to pack. i have friend who worked loading trucks for ups and it makes me fear sending anything. why i always get insurance.

I used to work at a UPS shipping outlet. Let me share a few things. FRAGILE, THIS SIDE UP does not mean jack to them. UPS is in the buis of moving a ton of boxes around each day.
If you pack something for UPS to ship, assume it is going to take a 2 to 3 foot drop, so pack it accordingly.
Insurance: Use only new boxes, many claims are denied because of recycled boxes.
I like UPS, and do not have a problem shipping with them. But make sure the box is new, the package can handle a 2 to 3 foot drop, and all should be well. The only exception I have seen the drivers take is a high (over $1000) insured item that is packed well.
Double box anything breakable!
Have a great one all!

Looks like the company you bought from does not have a good shipping department.

Excellent points! :)
If your package is left out in the rain at your residence and the box is damaged but the product isn't, call 1800pickUPS and complain. Trust me, whenever a customer complaint is taken, it goes directly to management and the driver hears about it. It may or may not be his fault that the package was in that shape, but it will sure make him/her think twice before they make a delivery without inspection of the goods. Customer 'inquiries' taint a driver's seniority and after a certain number (I think 3 within 2-3 months) a management ride is required with the driver.
FedEx, UPS, DHL, every service provider has their 'black' distribution centers. South Bend, IN and portions of the Chicago Hub for UPS really s*ck for package handling. Various FedEx facilities in Jersey, Missouri and Denver also s*ck. UPS is preferred for customers who want to implement logisitical instruments/software and is awesome for package visibility. UPS is also a better choice for servicing ALL parts of the U.S. and can handle larger volume customers better. FedEx is sweet because of their massive aircraft fleet and the fact none of their drivers are unionized and they work harder to obtain volume. UPS' fleet is corporately owned and is in general better shape, FedEx's fleet (sans aircraft/semi's) is privately owned and can break down easily. Flip a coin, choose your service provider. Just don't choose dhl unless you want to support the german gov't operating inside U.S. borders. Rule of thumb: UPS = volume reliability (3% service failures) FedEx = better air (12% service failures~ higher due to the larger percentage of air volume)
From my personal experience, central, southern US has better luck with UPS, west coast has better luck with FedEx. East coast is pretty mixed. Air service for UPS is sweet near Louisville, KY, FedEx air service is sweet near Nashville or Mobile (can't remember where they major air hub is) TN.
I'm so f'ing tired of hearing bashing on fedex/ups. maybe I should've made this a new thread...

So the unit was fine? Then there is no problem.
Having worked in shipping part time, I know that the majority of keeping a product safe while shipping something, isn't stopping the shipper from throwing the box, its packing it. I have throw boxes with thousands of dollars of books onto a truck, without any worries, because they are packed really well.
Packages will be abused. Pack them properly and there is no problem.
