I was advised to run Chkdsk on Navi for my Windows Update issue. Errors were found in read-only mode, and I scheduled chkdsk on system restart but it appears to have not worked. This was done in the command prompt window. Is there a way to schedule/run chkdsk from within Windows?

So you tried going into RUN and typing chkdsk /f ? have you tried going to my pc and right clicking on the drive and going to tools. Checkdisk is an option there.

Yeah, I did it from Run.

It worked on the third reboot...funny; it detected errors, but won't tell me what they are and now it says the drive is clean.

I didn't know about the drive tools option; thanks for that :D I was working with scandisk on ME machines all weekend and somehow stoopid me expected XP to be the same wrt execution...
