I am planning to put to complete systems in 1 case, and I want them both cooled by 1 WC setup. So we are talking at least 5 (I have arranged for a CPU, GPU, NB already), maybe 6 waterblocks. What pump will be strong enough to run this setup? Also noise is a big factor, I dont want any more than I have to. Thanks for the input!

2 pumps 2 120 fan/rads depends on your case and overclocking needs but remember this you need the same temp going into each cpu, hence 2 of each min. now do you want 1/2 with a midtower? maybe 3/8 is better, up to you. that will decide pump/s and the rest of what you want. your question is so general if you look through the stickies you can get a better idea on what to run.

It will go in a tall tower, at least 24". I'll use 1/2" tubing preferably.
I was thinking of running everthing in a series but I guess the water will be warmed up a bit when it gets to the last waterblock.
I was wondering about a MCP650 or something similar?
you'd need 2 pumps in series or a mega pump like an iwaki or something though i'm not familiar with iwaki pump performance
Why not just do two separate systems? Doing one, you'd probably end up getting two of everything anyways...

It looks like I might as well do two separate systems. I thought I could save some room by only using 1 WC system, but apparently not.

You could go with either one external, or two internal setups. If you wanted to go with one external you could get a 3x120 radiator, some 1/2" tubing, and an Iwaki MD20RLT pump or perhaps a Danner Mag 7 or 12. Any of those pumps would get the job done...

well I have a swifty kit, and so fare the MCP650 has don me well. I then switched to the MCP 350 and lost a tad of performance but so fare so good, thats only with two blocks. You'd be well off with an Iwaki or 2*mcp650

I dont like external WC cases at all. I prefer to keep everthing in 1 tidy box. It's not like there wont be room, the case I am building will be about 12Wx18Dx28H. Plenty room enough for 2 mobos, 3 hdd, 3 optical drives, a big pump, rad, and res.

Cut your 6 block system down to 4, NB blocks are useless.
Use low restriction blocks, ie mcw6002
Use a(a=one) high powerd 120vac pump, no reason not to if your going external, much less expensive than the 12v pumps and more powerfull. The heat from the pump is not going to be a factor for you. Mag series fits well here.
Run in series.
Consider evaporative cooling.
Enjoy.

if noise is ur big concern i would get the new D4 (aka. MCP655) with adjustable settings. also if ur set on one loop my sugestion would be to get the biggest rad u can fit and then go for maze blocks for everything. they offer low pressure drop and perform well with low flow.

I am buying the blocks SemiCycle is selling here: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=380094
What are my options in submersible pumps? That seems like the way to go here.
I have a rad that I was thinking of using, but maybe it's not big enough. It's ~8x13x2.5

If you want a submersible pump you'd be crazy not to get a Danner Mag 3, 5 or 7 when pushing through that many blocks. those pumps can handle that kind of drop. btw, do you have pics of the case you're going to use?

No pix atm, the case is still on paper. ;) I think I will do some research on the Danner Mags.

Marinedepot (http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_powerheads_pumps_danner_mag_drive_supreme .asp?CartId=) Carries a full line of them for the most competitive brand new price I've ever seen. You can browse flowrates and pressure drops there for both the Danners, Hydors, Iwakis, and lots of other popular pumps. The centrifugals are both in the "pumps external" and "powerheads" categories. Enjoy :)

You should be looking for pumps that can push 10 feet of head plus

Thanks for the link. Now to decide how big. It sounds like the 7 is kinda loud. I wonder if the 3 will be strong enough?
