WTF?!?!?! All the sound is sped up!

At my school, all the digital sound (MP3 playback) is sped up and makes everything sound like it's being sung by a chipmunk. This is on windows 2000 w/ Novell (Zenworks). I've tried playback with XM Play and WMP. Any idea how I can fix it? Keep in mind I'm not allowed to download/install anything. Thanks.

I think its a bad driver install. It happened to one of the Dell's I setup at work with Windows 2000.

Thanks I think you're right. All the computers here are DELL's with intel chipsets, and apparently one of the intel chipsets suffers this problem. I take it that chipset is the one we have.
