spcr just posted a thorough review (http://silentpcreview.com/article241-page1.html) of the new kinda-passive antec, efficiency peaked at 90% which for 120vac input is amazing to me.

unfortunately for silencers when the fan kicks in (~200 watt draw) it's 24 dba minumum. that's a huge amount of power, more than 90% of amd owners ever draw, but it's easy to reach for intel systems. in such cases a seasonic s12 would be quieter - the sub-500w models are quieter for all loads above 200 watts thanks to the sleeve-bearing yate loon.

This unit did really well for my tastes - I'm already tempted to get one.

$200 for this PSU, a bit expensive but silence is golden :)

You're not kidding there... it's well out of my reach. I'm secretly hoping Channel Well will release their own variant of it, but I won't wait around too long for it. Seasonic is slowly starting to exert some influence on me :)

I love the design of it, all black and sleek

well you know fortron's passive "zen" model is on the way, with efficiency that should rival this antec. i haven't seen any reviews yet but from the looks of its construction the cost should be well below a phantom.
