View Full Version : Possible to Benchmark Changes in tRAS?

I've got 2 x 512 Kingston HyperX DDR333 with spec timings of 2.0-2-2-5. I currently have them OC'd to 400 MHz, and the timings are 2.5-3-3-6. If I try to change any of the first 3 values to 2, the computer won't even POST.

I had read in the Memory Overclocking "How To . ." about the supposed magic number "11" for tRAS with the NF7-S mobos (which I have). Is there a program out there that can be used to benchmark changes in tRAS? I tried running Sandra's memory benchmark, but didn't come up with anything really concrete as far as comparisons.

Also, is there anything else I can do to be able to decrease the first 3 memory timings, or am I doing pretty good now with the way they're set? DDR SDRAM voltage is currently set at 2.7V.

Thanks in advance for the input!

First I need to know what chips your RAM has: I suggest you take the heatspreaders off (they prolly just trap the heat).

I'd like to, but wouldn't that void the warranty?

Has anyone been able to nail a definite based on the thread that this was in?:

"- HyperX PC2700 (2-2-2-5-1T) (KHX 2700)
Winbond BH-6, Samsung TCB3 or Winbond CH-6"

Or maybe the serial could give some indication. I'm really against voiding the warranty.

If they don't boot @ 200MHz 2-2-2-5 @<3V, they likely aren't Winbond.

I'll give up to 2.9V a test and get back to you. Thanks for the input!

UPDATE: Didn't work. Currently have them set at 2.5-3-3-5.

UPDATE 2: Ordered an OCZ DDR Booster today, so I'll see if that helps the timings at all once it gets here.
