Holy Crap ! ! ! Sparks ! ! !

so I'm sitting here reading the forum, when I hear this sparking and BOOM ! !

smoke everywhere,

while this is going on i am yanking power cords from the computer and monitor..

I have a set of Cyber Acoustics A5640 5.1



there about 8 months old, it was the transformer that makes the 15V DC from the wall, half of the side is missing and you could tell it was on fire,,




lucky I have tons of lappy power supplies that I can mod to work on these

You just better make sure the AMPS and volts match up right.

"TF" is right, but you need to find out what caused the original cube to self destruct. You may have a problem with your Cyber Acoustic causing it to draw excessive power from the cube. I would keep the volume low and check the temperature (by touch) of the cube until you're sure that it's not the Cyber Acoustic causing the problem.

they call for a 15v 2.5A supply and I just hooked up a 16V 2.6A, which is within specs.

they work fine...
