damn..10k mips? i think thats faster then my cpu... *sobs in a corner*
Does it have DDL encoding??
Based on the ac97 codec :X
Looks like it'll have some neat features for gaming. Maybe it'll finally catch up to A3D.
Also, I believe this is the card that Creative claims will resample and "redigitize" or some bull**** 128 Kbps MP3s and make them sound better than the original CD and studio recordings. They also said something about splitting 2 channels into 5.1 in a way that sounds better than real 5.1 or somesuch. Holy marketing bull****, Batman!

10 bucks says they can shove it up their ass for tryn to sell a 300 dollar soundcard. you can get a pretty decent sony home theater system for that much.

According to that little review thing Emu might release a card based on it and then we will have a godly card.

Then you discover that you'll need a good sound card to drive that system...
Really, I believe that the new sound card is designed for audiophiles, as opposed to regular users.

It's designed for anyone who will buy into Creative's marking bull****. This card supposedly can resample and remaster 128 Kbps MP3s and make them sound better than the CD. That is, of course, bull****. It may be leaps and bounds above the Audigies in sound quality, and perhaps bridge the gap between gaming and hi-fi, but it's probably no match for something like Terratec or E-MU cards.
Oh, and if you wanted a good sound card to drive a home theater, the Chaintech AV-710 would do nicely, under $30. Well, for two channel stereo that is. Only the first two channels have the good DAC.
