It's because my friend bought a CHEAPO mobo (Jetway with a SiS 630E) and it only supports up to 8x multiplier, so I'm wonder am I better off telling him to get a C800 or a P3 1 GHz. He wants performance, but doesn't want to pay for it... Thanks for answering..

For performance I'd always go with a PIII. The celerons are nice, but really lack the performance of the PIII's.

Ya, but the thing is, that you get a cel 800 for 50USD, whilst you wont get a p3 1000 under 150USD. It`s just not worth it.

I have seen the OC DB, but pls advise me to the TYPICAL speed, his mobo doesn't accept voltage mods in bios, and I don't think he wants me to mess around with wiring on his mobo. He has a GW FOP-32-1 if that helps, and he might get AS, although if not, it'll be RS grease. So pls help me out here, thx.
