Can anyone tell me what the best memory timing's are for Geil 512meg 2x256 dual channel pc3200 400mhz ram,on a Epox 8rda3+ mainboard,with a AMD 3200+Barton 400mhz fsb cpu...Running stable now at 2.0-6-3-3 FSB400mhz.
Just want to know if I should change these settings for the better,or leave well enough alone.?Thanks
Try this link, lots of info.http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=237991

2-3-3-11 Should be your best bet, NF2 boards love that 11.

Is that faster than the 2-3-3-6 I have now, what''s the difference from the 6 to the 11? just curious.....Thanks.
For your explanation check the sticky in this forum called " Memory: Basics, Tweaking & Overclocking " There is a section about a third of the way down called "The Anomaly: nVIDIA’s nForce2 and tRAS". But yes 11 will be faster for you. Unless you know what chips are on those I would just find the highest FSB you can obtain staying 1:1 with your timings of 2-3-3-11.

The difference is probebly not really noteable, you will get 40mb more in Sandra but thats about it.

ok,you think I should just stay here then? seem's to be stable.
I used to have 2x256 Geil GD DC PC3500 on my old nf7-s. I ran it at like 210fsb 2-3-3-11 daily. My brother now has it in his PC running 200fsb 2-3-3-11 at default voltage daily on his nf7-s.

ok,That's cool,I have the amd 3200+ 400,and the geil pc3200 400 2x256 dual channel.......running 2-3-3-11 200fsb in bios..maybe I can crank it up to 210fsb,see what happens.
Find out if it likes volts. Btw, another thing to tell ya. I highly doubt that it will do 217fsb (rated speed) at cas 2. I sent mine to Geil for an RMA and the replacements still couldn't do it. I just don't think it runs as it should on nforce2.
