XP build 2600 question

I installed XP build 2600 , (upgraded from Win 98 SE) After I installed EAsy CD Creator 5.0 PLatinum, it required me to get a patch so Direct CD would work correctly, i got this patch from Adaptec site. Now though when I try to shutdown system it reboots , I have checked settings in control panel.

All seems correct , anyone got any ideas, guess next test would be to uninstall Easy CD Creator and see what happens then.

Help can not shut down without turning power off on back of PC.

I have never heard anybody being able to install this program trouble-free. I suggest Nero 5.5.
