my p3 700 cBO really is hurting now. The most stable speed is 805. I know taht I damaged it but there is nothing I can do now it once posted at 135fsb that was a thrill!

Which chip are you talking about, the Slot 1 1000E PentiumIII (retail box) or the FC-PGA 1000E (OEM only) that ENPC is selling?

FC-PGA 1000E (OEM only) that ENPC is selling

its cdo stepping and yup i got it from enpc.

everything (games, 3Dmark, Prime95 etc) running stable at 1240mhz?

Ebola

yup everything is stable. i've been running folding @ home for the past two days and the computer hasn't crashed or locked up once.

will you try 133MHz FSB soon?? I can't wait to know if your CPU will do 1,33GHz, because I'm thinking of getting one of these 1GHz P3s with 100MHz FSB and cD0-stepping.
This would be a GREAT overclock with a P3.

What is the brand of your slocket and what type of cooling are u using for ur cpu?

Thanks.

i have an iwill slotkit II. my heatsink is an alpha pal 6035 with a sanyo denki 3500rpm fan.

i have pc100 ram so it might not be possible for me to get 133. i have yet to try.

I just ordered one of these CPUs from ENPC yesterday for my Asus CUSL2-C. I am glad to hear that someone hit 1240 with one. I am currently using Crucial 133MHz RAM, and am definitely going to try to hit 1333. I won't receive the CPU until Monday, but I'll let you know how things go.

BTW, Ebola, do you have any benchmarks that you can provide comparing the chip at 1000 and 1240. Thanks in advance :)!

Ebola,

Post up a Sandra CPU benchmark if you can.

Here is one from my Tualatin @140fsb (1330mhz)

i think i need some new memory. I have the same problem even though mine is 133 it's generic and I won't even begin to waste time doing serious overclocks. I'm glad to see Intel finally putting up a fight for us who want the confidence that having the best Quality processor gives. Just had to insert that.

I cannot believe it! I just got my new P3 1GHz with 100MHz FSB today, and I am extremely pleased. As I write you, I am running at 1333MHz, and my CPU temp is the same as my old 733MHz P3 was. I have played Deus Ex and Unreal (original) with absolutely no lock-ups. Those are the only games I have tested so far.

I am using the fan that came with a retail boxed P3 (so, nothing special) with Arctic Silver II. I did have to increase the CPU voltage to 1.80. At the default 1.75, I experienced lock-ups while booting.

The strange thing is that I can only use this CPU in my CUSL2-C if I set the FSB:SDRAM to 133:133. I tried using 100:100 per the CPU's specifications, but absolutely no 3D accelerated programs would work; they all locked up. I imagine that there are some BIOS compatibility issues with this CPU at other FSB:SDRAM settings. Therefore, if you have a CUSL2-C and are planning on getting one of these CPUs, then you must overclock it to 1333MHz.

Here is an image of my Sandra 2001te score:

I 'm very happy that you managed to buy such a good o\c cpu.....
but in the other hand....i'm very sad that i cant lay my hands on
it,cause i dont have a way to buy that cpu.
It seems that all stores have stopped the international shipping...
and i live in Athens Greece.
I dont have a chance to go for it.
:(

If someone thinks there is a way to get this cpu.....plz mail me.

Ebola & gravioli,

Very good choice of CPU. I've been looking around and actually been waiting for those type of chips to be released cauze I knew I had good feeling about those 10x multiplier cD0's.. heehee! and yes I just ordered one too! Those are mad clockers!! I know.. Only available in one stepping that's equipped with OEM FCPGA @cD0@ 10x !! Ebola, u been using CAS2 or 3 setting with your current PC100 RAM? Yeah try getting the CAS2 Crucial or Mushkin. I prefer Mushkin Rev.3 or 3+. I have two of those Rev.3's. Once u get the RAM to run @ CAS2 at 1.33Ghz, watch that memory score jump high! I used to get Sandra Memory score @3rd run 477mb/s / 587mb/s with my previous P3 700@1064 @CAS222 on an Abit BE6-2 rev1.2 mobo. it's pretty darn good for this BX mobo. With the 440BX and CAS2 RAM, you should be able to spank those P3 256k L2 version of Tualatin at mhz to mhz comparison and Tualatin isn't supported by 440BX. I think they are only used by i815EP Solano chipset currently. Them chipset are slow unless u get DDR supported mobo and RAM. I haven't seen a good single processor i815E DDR supported mobo yet. I know the Iwill DVD266 series do DDR but they're for Dual processors.

Don't get your hopes up *too* high. Hope you get lucky, but,

Humphrey from PCnut won't even offer guaranteed 1 ghz to 1333 mhz overclocks, because he emailed me that he recently bought some 1.1 ghz chips, and the highest they will clock is 112 FSB (112x11=1232). And I would expect a 1100E to overclock farther, but...remember what happened with those cC0 750's that couldn't even clock as high as a cB0 700E......

I would expect 1200-1250 from a 1000E cpu, unless you get really lucky or take cooling to the next level.

FWIW, my 1000"EB" is running nicely at 155x7.5 (1162.5), at default voltage and for some reason, 155 FSB is more stable than it was on my 600e@930 (had to use 150 fsb because of all the ram errors---Unreal engine games would crash while loading etc).

I still can't figure out why, because both CPUs pass burnP6, but the 600e required 1.70v for 900, and 1.75v for 930 (unusuable).

I'd be happy with 1100 out of the thing! Just received the shipment confirmation today... I should have that puppy on Wednesday...
