just to calm a few rumers first: i have not joined the aoa fah teem, and i have no plans to. 2nd vary few people have switched over 3rd yes, aperntly stanman has. 4th thay only have 25 members!
just because a few of the more well known members switched over dosent meen we shuld just drop everything and give up! we are folding in 4th! 4TH! we can do better than that! hell, we used to be in 2nd! the loss of stanman was a big blow, but not one we cant take. the loss of a few of our most prominent members was also a big blow, but not one we cant take. the giving up or slacking off of our less well known members or more well known ones in genreal is one we cannot. so if we still want to be a teem than pick your selves up off your feet, stop complaining, and get going agan! we can still make 3rd!
Let's give it all we got, every once of CPU Power, we were the Second foldingest team in the world. Let's get that back, even if we have to fight tooth and nail to do so.
I currently have 5 process of folding going myself. Let's show the world that dedication that has always remained unwavering in light of tribulation.
Fold on! =)
J
I put it back on 100% except for one client folding for cowanrg-which is still for this team anyway. May take a day for it to show up but it will.
no need to worry. i just got my p3 1000e and im running at 1240mhz now.

I have 2 for me and 1 for cowanrg going right now. Tomorrow I will switch the one for cowanrg over to dunga bee and then on Saturday switch it over to tomatoman. Still for our team though.
Now this is more like it !!!!!!

sweet, now we're talking!!
This is just what we need, more teamwork!
I still have my comp folding 24/7. Hopefully within the next week or so, I'll have a friends 1.4 tbird folding for us and maybe another within a month :-)
keep foldin' foldin' foldin'....

I´m folding every idle minute with my main rig and I hope to get a 1.2 Gig T.bird up for Folding soon
Fold on Pals!!!
I finally got my Dual Duron machine running. It is folding 24/7 cranking out 2 WU's every 3 to 4 hours. I just looked over at statsman and we are currently 3rd for the day!! Just ahead of Arstechnica.
I'd say we are still going strong as a team. Fold on!
Oh yeah, I have my PIII 800 running 24/7 for cowanrg
To give credit where due, two of those below are not actively folding for the team, at least for the past week. That would make JMR89GT and TheKehoe numbers 9 and 10.
Is there anyway to try and recruit some of the inactive members back to the fold? Only 32.5% of our members are actively folding. Granted, this is a higher percentage than any of the other top 10 teams, but if they thought it was a good cause once, maybe we can lure them back. I'm new here, so I don't know a lot of these guys, but maybe those of you who do could drop them a pm and make our case?

I wondered what happened to stool and nutndun. Did they post here much when they were folding?

I just recruited a server I set up for a friend. P3 1 Ghz. It pretty much does nothing all day except share a few files and route some printing.
My total foling power is:
AMD 1.4 (24/7)
P3 1.0 (24/7)
P3 500 Laptop (24/7, unless undocked and saving on power)
P1 166 (Usually BARELY Makes it ---> Looking at making it a Duron 700)
I thought I had heard Stanman had stopped because of electric bill issues. Oh well, to each his own. At least he is folding.
Fold on brothers & sisters...
I wonder if NUTNDUN and stool would rejoin if asked. I see stool is still active on other boards but NUTNDUN hasn't been around for about a month.
I know Stanman cut back alot for quite awhile. He was folding on his own, for anandtech and has cranked it back up for aoa. Personally, I am glad he has cranked it back up no matter the team.
Stool posted a couple of weeks ago that he would be unable to fold for a few weeks or so. Also Kahnza expressed an interest in folding again once the 2.0 client was out and stable, with caching, because of the server issues. That's just what I remember off hand and not sure if it will all come to pass.

how do you have a dual duron?
I have been wondering about the inactive members as well. Just have to figure out a good way to approach them without being intrusive.
NUTNDUN has come back a couple times before, but usually quits again after a week or two. I think it may have been server frustration (maybe), maybe some people will come back with 2.0.
I've brought up a couple more Folding Machines.
how do you have a dual duron?
I bought a Tiger S3260 Tiger MP mainboard. it was $208 I believe. I then bought 2 1Ghz Durons. These have the Morgan core and work great in a dual system.
It is really going to be a server for a payroll company but will only get used about 6 hours out of the day. The rest of the time it will fold for oc.com.

Can someone list me the ingredients for a folding box? I know they've been listed a few time probably, but I'm trying to be lazy for other who may want to know this as well, but doesn't know how to use search ;)
Dunno how many i can add, nor how soon, but ability to get it done is here and I want to try an take up some slack for the members who moved to other places.
I'm guessing this would be a decent ingredient list.

You pretty much have the list down.:D 128 is fine. 2 gigs is more than enough but those drives are also newer and may be easier to find. Video cards? I've been buying them from a pawn shop for less than $10. Just enough to boot. Since that MB comes with built in 10/100 then you're good there if you have a LAN already. I don't even have boxes for two of the machines I have running. They are mounted to a scrap piece of wood that is nailed to the wall in my basement. and no to the last question. I have a single monitor that I used to set them up and they are folding on by themselves. I monitor them by using a program called KDfold which is available at http://www.plasticstudios.org/robsdelphipage.html
If you are as anal as me then each box will be running zone alarm with permissions for the IP of the main box. I think thats all.

Whoa, now that is an idea.... Maybe I could convince my wife to redecorate the downstairs with ermmmm these nice green boards:D :D :D
Seriously, its a great idea to set something up in the equipment room.
Actually it's pretty ugly. Like some sort of PC scultputre art or something , but it's off on the far side of the basement making noise. I know it's working when I come home and can hear the whirring fans from the top of the steps. Good luck getting your wife to agree to something like that. :D You could tell her that you want to "tile" the wall.;)
Out of curiousity, what PSU are you running for the dual Morgans? That looks like a much better way to add power and that cost($208) could be easily justified.
The minimum requirements are a 300W PSu that provides 30A on the 5v and bleh I can't remember on the 3.3.
I have a 400W antec that exceeds the specs just in case :). I think it was about $69.
I was thinking about building one for my home machine but want to wait until other manufacturers have their 760MP chipset boards out. It should be within 30 days and probably can find something that is both more overclocking friendly and cheaper. Abit, Asus, Gigabyte and MSI should have boards by then.

For those of you who dont rememeber me, I was here a month or so ago. I got a less than welcome reception from a previous member of OC since I am a member of DSLR, so I opted to stay away. My intentions were nothing less than honorable and I was merely extending a hand in friendship to a group of people working towards the same goals I was [just for a different team] :)
However, as I read thru messages here, I see a pretty great bunch of people here. You all have class and respect. It is nice to see a group of people who work well together and under unfortunate circumstances, can laugh and work harder for the benefit of the team and the project.
I have chosen to remain a neutral member of my team during recent events and changes in our member roster. I stated my feelings to our team leader and decided to sit back and let things take their course.
You all have my utmost respect and I am glad Ive been able to [in the past and future] drop by and say hello. Keep the spirit up and I hope our teams can do something together in the future!
Fold on everyone!

Hi Spectre, great to see you here again. The folks over at Team Helix have always, even now;), been a very great group and extended a warm welcome to me on my first visit shortly after your previous message here. I hope things stay that way over the coming weeks/months.
I though about folding over there just to get the Double Helix under my name :D and because of those snazzy(does anybody say that anymore) Tshirts, etc.

:) OC has always been good to us and Im sure we will be friends for quite a long time.
...and, yeah, the shirts are quite snazzy. We just updated the merchandise site to include beer steins as well. :)

Now that is cool. Almost tempted....wait. wrong team ;)
oh well. It's getting cold and it may be time to get one of those cool FAH sweatshirts. Of course I could save the money and put it towards another box. hmmm decisions decisions...
Thanks. I was thinking about waiting for other mfrs too but getting a little anxious to try one out. Really want it for the main box more than anything else since I always have several apps open and it's what I use to to work on everything while at home. But it would be great for setting up DC systems as well. Much less maintenance overall. It's time to chant- The prices will come down... The prices will come down... umm then again there is a lot of room on the credit card available. ;)

Do you ahve to have a monitor for EVERY BOX?! I'm using a switch box ($30.00 for 2 position). If nothing else you can keep switching your monitor cable and use USB mouse and keyboard. Otherwise you need extra cables for vid card, mouse and keyboard.
