Anything wrong with just using Win XP's own Firewall?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi,

Can you tell me if there is anything wrong with just using Win XP's own Firewall,

I Know other firewalls like ZoneAlarm do more things, but is Win XP's Firewall ok to use, or is it not as safe as ZA ?

Thanks

Well the XP firewall is better than NO firewall IMO if you set it up for your needs. It (in it's stock form) is very aggressive. The bad thing about the XP firewall is it seems to let everything OUT but restricts incoming. It won't alert you to proggies trying to access the internet at all which IMO is a bad thing and why I spent the $40 and got ZAP.

just get a free verison o Sygate personal firewall or Kerio - from experience both are better then zone alarm.
