HP was so ingenious as to "glue" the HS on to the CPU of my comp. so I can't upgrade the HSF. Problem is that I think heat is causing the comp to crash. I could get the fan off, the clips out, and the CPU out, but the HS was glue with some kind of super strong glue. I've tried twisting it to no effect. So pls help me out here with a way to get the HS off w/o breaking the CPU. Thx.

Put the CPU in a ziploc bag and press the bag as close as you can to the CPU while still being able to close it. Once you're sure it's sealed, put the CPU bag in the freezer for 10 to 20 minutes. This makes the glue more brittle, which should allow the heatsink to be removed easily.

You might also try using Acetone to weaken the glue. That would work and wouldn't damage your cpu at all.

Try the freezer, it normally works very well
