Do i screw my maze2 screws all the way down? or do i leave a little slack, if so, how much (length)? if i screwed the bolts down all the way would i crush my CPU or what? i'm scared guys. i have no shim. would putting a shim on increase or decrease temp? i heard it increased temp. so i dunno. thanks in advance for any help. peace

Right now I have my screws screwed on enough to have the springs about 1/4" or 3/8" tall.
You should be able to compress them completely as long as you tighten them all at the same time. If you do that you shouldn't crush your cpu.
I've heard that shims do raise temps a little, but not be enough to worry about.
good luck.

I also have my maze2 springs compressed somewhere between 1/4" and 1/2".
I don't see any need to compress the springs all the way down. I suppose it could be done, but 1/4" slack should be plenty of pressure. Like Hoozie said, just make sure to turn each screw equally. Turn one corner a few turns, then go to the opposite corner and do a few turns. Keep alternating corners until you get the desired level of slack.
The maze2 should perform great without a shim. Never messed with one personally.
Well, I had a bit of slack in my springs, and the tubes on the block made it tilt off a bit. Lost a processor that way. Now they're tightened all the way.
