Athlon XP help

Im gonna be building a new system once the new mobos hit the shelves (using the KT266A chipset). Whats your opinions on the 1.4 Athlon Vs. the 1800 XP (1.53ghz)?

I guess it boils down to how much money to you have to spend. If money wasn't an issue, I would go with any of the new xp's. The 1.4 T-Birds are a great buy at $100 too!!!! If I had the funds, I would be first in line for the 1800xp!

well i wouldnt say that i have money to burn, but i like to buy the best products that i can afford.

Does the XP 1800 perform well compared to the 1.4 Tbird? And is it as oclockable?

im not into hardcore oclocking.... i was just gonna take the tbird up to around 1.5ghz, would i be able to take the XP to around 1.63 as easily?

clock for clock, the palomino, or xp is faster, and supports sse functions. i think it is something like a 6% overall increase. i am running my 1.4@1.53 rock solid. there are rumors of xp not being overclockable, but i doubt them. 6-10% for over $100 more does not seem worth it to me....wait till they get up around 2gig, then i will upgrade.
