hey all,

im going to be getting the BIX III soon and i need some good fans to put on it. It will be my first watercooling setup, and i would like to know what fans you guys use for your rads. You could also include what your setup is. Thanks in advance! :)

Hello, millhouse. I run a similar radiator here (xspc 120T) just with 3x cheapo 120mm fans that don't really a high CFM even at 12 volts. Funnily enough I can run them at 7 volts, making them very slow moving & quiet, and not even affect temperatures by any noticable amount. :)

I don't think big rads like those necessarily need super-fans at all given their effectiveness at cooling.

P.S. Running mine in a Lian-Li PCV-2100. ;)

go to www.excess-solutions.com and check out the 120x38 mm deltas they have, 5 bucks a piece is a damn good deal.

I'm using a 120x38mm Sanyo Denki San Ace with the fabled part number 109R1212H101. I have it pulling air through my D-tek JR-120 with custom shrouds.

two of these:

Hard Drive Coolers. Volt Modded and quiet. They fit my Rad perfectly.
Lately I have been thinking of using two more to push a little
more air through.

I use 4 Sanyo Denki SanAce 120mm x 38mm fans, each on 8" x 10" shrouds, on my basement mounted truck radiator.

Since those are in short supply these days, I vote for the delta's too @ 7volts. The 3 blade Delta's even look cool.

By the way, you can never have too many fans. Even if you buy $25 bucks worth at that site, you'll end up using them someday. The watercooling addiction will demand you change things around every few weeks/months. :)

I'm going for a Tri Blade Delta on a 86' Chevette core myself, maybe a pushpull if I can fit it where I want.

where do you get those bulk packs at? Thats sweet!

p.s. are you the person who makes custom heatercores? I here things like "oh, weapon cores are awesome, get one of those" and things like that.
Could you post a pic of one of the heatercores. Im interested in what they look like.

well, you have more than 100 posts, so you're able to access the classifieds - the weapon heatercores are in the cooling section of the classifieds (with plenty of pics)
