i like just completely upgrading everything
will the next creative sound card come 1x PCIe?
what kinds of cards will come out with this?

Sound, ethernet, disk/RAID controllers, USB/firewire cards...

but no good sound cards right?
there's no creative one
is there any benefit (i mean, does it use the extra bandwidth of PCIe?)

I was really hoping Hauppauge would make a PVR card for the PCIe 1x but I don’t think it will happen any time soon. Then again maybe the Shuttle manufacturing company knows something we don’t as their 939 nf4 shuttle system only comes with a PCIe 16x and a PCIe 1x slot.

From the reading that I do, it's too early to tell what will be PCI-e. I suspect that as the standard hits more and more desks, the hardware will follow. Sound cards may follow. Now that nvidia has dropped out of the sound business, companies like Creative will have to fill the marketing void.
