Another Router Question

I have a Network Everywhere NR041 4 port router. It is also badged by Linksys. I have noticed when I go to the IP of the router, under Filters, there is a setting that is called Block WAN Request. Some of the websites after some research has told me that this should be set to enabled to prevent hackers from being able to ping the router. Since my Computer is sometimes set up as a File Server, is this setting OK or will it cause some problems with the server?

It should be ok, as long as you are sure to forward the ports needed. With a WAN request block, what it normally will do is block any requests to the router that are not specifically authorized (IE, requests from forwarded ports).
