i just got a leadtek 6800gt and it runs fantastically-
it autodetects to 415/1.13 in coolbits/nvtool

but id rather not run at those speeds on stock cooling - after about 3 or 4 hours i occasionally get a lot of artifacting (memory artifacting)-

but lately ive been running at stock settings, with my cpu/ram at stock for control reasons, and i'm occasionally getting memory artifacting in lineage2 - i just got my thermal probe in the mail so i'm going to hook that up to some of hte vga ram and see what temps are like,

my question is, could drivers or bios have any effect on this? i'm VERY new to the nvidia realm - ive been using ati's since the 7500, and this is my first nvidia since the geforce2 o_O

i'm currently using the latest omegadrivers - installed em after using drivercleaner, etc-

Go to GURU3D.com and download the TweakerRus.com drivers .I think the 76.44 it will help with alot of things except temp ready.I hear alot of people getting higher then normal temp readings. But give Em a try to see if the Artifacting goes away.

Does the artifacting only happen in lineage 2??

If it artifacts in other games then it probably is driver. If it artifacts in only one game.Double check video settings for that game.It might just be poorly written support from the maker of the game, which might have been rushed to market.
So they might fix it later and act like "Oh?There is a problem with hardware.Really? We will get right on it..."

I hope this helped.

i think it has a lot to do with the programming - their usage of the unreal engine isn't the greatest - alt-tabbing and coming back creates huge texture problems

problem solved - the game was running in windowed mode with a refresh rate different than the desktop refresh rate and it was causing all sorts of weird stuff to happen~
