I have some movies that can not be played in Media player but they worked fine when I had 98 SE on the machine before my upgrade.

I am sure i need to reinstall a mpeg 4 divx codec but XP warned that it was not tested so I did not install. Anyone using divx mpeg 4 codec.

Anyone know a link to the most recent video codecs?

I've got it installed on my XP box and works OK. Some movies play upside down, though. Don't know where that problem comes from.

Not sure how appropriate this link is but most codecs can be found at Codecs Warehouse (http://www.moviesoftware.net/).

I just started trying making divx in XP. I'm using divx codec 3.22b which can be found at www.divex-digest.com in the software section. I had problems with video playing upside down on RC2, but not on the final.

divx works fine in winXP....and ive never experienced any upside-down video myself.

i will make this suggestion though, ditch media player! do yourself a big favour and d/l Sasami2k (http://www.sasami2k.com), its freeware and is the absolute best video player available. convenient, easy controls, non-bloated.....awesome.

As some of you have mentioed , I am experiencing the upside down video. I recently d/l "French Connection" in divx from a newsgroup and it plays upside down in Media Player.

I was told to get divx322b.zip to cure this, I have got it but not installed it. I do not watch movies on my pc, I just use pc to convert all movies to vcd to watch on my home DVD player and big screen.

Any one solve this upside down issue. I am gonna try the new codec I was recommended. Will all new movies I d/l now play upside down as French Connection did, cause it is the only movie I d/l since XP upgrade.

As I said above since I have installed the final version of XP i have not had the upside down problem. I have encoded in XP and played divx movies that were encoded in 98SE with no problem since I installed the final build
