I know you asked about Rio in particular, but figured you might not object to another possibility. I have the Maxi-Jet 1200 model that is rated at 295gph. It is virtually silent during operation and comes highly recommended for reliability.
I bought mine for $18.95 at www.marinedepot.com
At that price, it is hard to beat.

I dont think that 600gph is really necesary tho is it? ive seen loadsa people use around 300gph or less
unless of course ur making urself an 8ft bong tower cooler :D

600gph is a little too much I would say
its also louder thin the 200gph+ pumps
I have a 350gph and I could here is easly without all my fans on
I just ordered a mag-drive 250gph inline for $35 with shipping and it should be here today or tomarrow=]

I have a Rio 600, I think it's rated as 200 GPH. I'm using a bong cooler, though, and even though it's only 2 feet high the pump is having a little trouble. Still, a good pump, silent, too. Only thing is that the connectors are 1/2" instead of 3/8", but I just pushed real hard and clamped it and haven't had any problems.
Yecch! Look into and Eheim or Danner.

I would get a Eheim Colin but I just dont have $70 on me=/ and I dont think a pump is worth that much
maybe I would if I could find one at a local pet store

Rio's Table of Specifications. The Rio 600 has a 4ft delivery head, means it can pump as high as 4 feet above it's current position. Since your planning on going 4 foot bong, I would consider either that one or a smaller model and just place it higher in the case.

Then buy a Danner. Petsmart often has cupons to keep your cost under $30.

I have several Rio 600s. To expect 4 ft out of them when using 3/8" tubing and the flow restrictions in a water block is dreaming. I hope this does not sound to harsh, it's reality.

3/8ths? Damn, most people are using 1/2 inch now, would that still be dreaming?

Read all the forums. 3/8" is the standard. 1/2" is still very limited and reserved for the extreem tweakers. I have still not found the need to use 1/2" tubing, but I run a big Danner pump. ;)

Hmmm, id go with 1/2" but i havent seen any water blocks with those connectors? anyone else seen one?
I tried 3 different pumps,
1) 450 LPH (£18), just couldn't push the water through 2meters of 3/8, a rad and the waterblock without sounding like a coffee grinder. LPM=0.2 max
2)650 LPH (£24), managed to push 0.7LPM through the same setup. Quiet as a mouse : )
3)1200 LPH (£29), managed to pump 2.5LPM though the same setup but sounded awful as there was simply too much pressure! A coffee grinder on max power. (plus it didn't seem to help with my temps)
In the end I went with a Genie 650LPH garden pump which still only manages to circulate 0.7LPM due to the 3/8 fittings on the Swiftech and rad etc. It is silent mind so I'm not complaining, well not much, just need to get a better rad so it doesn't restrict the flow too much.
: )
Danger Den offers their blocks with 1/2" barbs.
