dyes & color

my first wc rig is currently leak testing, and when i add the final coolant solution i would like to color the water a bit. i really dont want to spend money on dye becuase this has been an extremely low budget project, so i have been reading about the usage of hi-liter ink.

some people swear by this stuff, and others say it ruins your pump. i've seen pics with some great looking results using hi-liters, and im tempted by the value. however if i damage my pump it would really suck.

any input on the matter would be great
