View Full Version : BFG 6800GT weirdness

When I play games or bench with any 3dmark program, but especially in HL2 and Far Cry, the games just stop like someone hit pause or something, couple seconds go buy and it keeps going. This does not happen in HLDM or DOOM3.

I have changed my AGP aperture to 128 from 256 and AGP voltage +0.1 from stock, didnt really help. I have fast writes on and 8X....

this one is stumping me...

ok I reinstalled the 5.10 chipset drivers and the 71.89 forceware drivers, put bios setting for the 6800 to default.
Ran HLDM, FAR CRY, 3dmark01 scored 27000,ran 3dmark05 scored 5000... no hitches no pauses....

ran HL2DM and it stops and goes, i guess I have HL2DM stutter disease like so many other :rolleyes:

take off fastwrites. thats whats studdering on you. did you try unlocking the other pipelines and vertex shaders?

i will try this, but why just in HL2DM does it do this.

As far as I know the BFG 6800GT OC 256 card has 16 pipes and 6 shaders already ?
