Hey,

I just recieved my Alpha PAL15U for my Geforce 3 today, and I was wondering if it is better to make the fan suck, or to blow?

In all the pictures of this fan on the net, and in the instructions, they have it sucking. I would think that blowing is better, but just thought i would ask if anyone has better success with it sucking :)

I also have a question for Silversinksam :)

in your other posts, you said to dilute arctic silver adhesive use:

1 part a
1 part b
1 part acII

will this still be able to hold the heatsink well enough?..just wondering becuase for a heatsink this size, it is fairly heavy :)

as far as I know it is always better to have the fan blowing onto the heatsink... but i don't know much, so if I'm wrong somebody's gonna correct me! :D

Jack,

You definitly want to have the fan blowing on the Alpha pal15u since it has no shroud. Not to mention that with it blowing it cools of your ram/ramsinks

The general rule is if the Heatsink has a shroud it can suck or blow, No shroud it should blow. :)

regarding affixing it with 3 three parts AS, I have affixed mine using that ratio only on the corners and just regular arctic silver II on the middle and its not coming off anytime soon, just make sure to give it a little extra time to 'cure' as the dry time takes a little longer if its diluted.

Since the HSF is ont he "underside" of the card when the card is mounted, it would make sense to me to have in blow into the HS.... if it sucked, the heat would just rise back into the card, methinks.

But then again, I'm not a thermal engineer.
