View Full Version : Win 2k,,no Msconfig ???
Ok hi all and what can I do to regain control of my start up items in WIN2K ???
Thanks for the help
No MSCONFIG in Win2K. If you have a copy of it somewhere you can stick it in the WINNT/System32 folder and it will work fine.
If not, I've attached a small program (for the umpteenth time) that does the trick just fine.
Thanks I had that program On a tweak disk I made,,Kinda figured it would work but was unsure and dident want to jump into a problem....
Final note I must agree WIN2K Is by far the best O/S I have had My Ocing is more stable and overall performance Is way better.
There are ways like editing your registry =run "regedit" and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE | SOFTWARE | Microsoft | Windows | CurrentVersion| Run this key list everything that runs at start up also look at the other run keys like once, ex. You should be careful when editing your reistry, but just delete the offending program line and it is no more.
An easier and somewhat more controlable option(undo, etc.) would be to get this freeware program and install it. I use it and it works just great. http://www.tfi-technology.com/startstop.htm
Hope this is what u want
