I have a really simple question: Can I run a palomino in a motherboard designed for a t-bird (assuming I adjust the core voltage)? Specifically, an Abit KG7 . . .
The way I understand it as long as the MB will support the frequency then it shoud support the processor. My A7M266 will not support the Palomino because it is only rated to 1.4 gb, until a bios upgrade is in effect. but your KG7 should support the new processor.

As I understand it, most mobo's need to have an upgraded BIOS to use the Morgan/Palomino core.

You are right Oni, I got my first shipment in at the store and AMD says to upgrade every BIOS before we install them. I have done this with the MSI Pro-2 and Asus A7V and all is good. I will push one of these babies very soon. The 1600 (1466mhz) goes for $209.99 and the 1800 (1533mhz) goes for $259.99. We also got the Tyan tiger7 in and I am gonna do some playing at work tomorrow. Geez I love being the manager!!
