yo! i just got a new case with a standard 300W power supply
the power supply fan is really really loud and, i think, overkill as the air coming out of it
is almost icy cold, which tells me that a slower, quieter fan would do the job
so i wanna replace the fan, no i've taken apart a few power supplies in my time and i know where to start
but what i'd like to know is whether, if let's say, the current fan is 12V 0.18A and the fan i'm replacing it with is 12V 0.13A if this would have a negative effect on the power going to the pc? as in will the extra current end up going to the wrong places and fry my rig or would it not have any effect at all??

the reason i ask is cos loooong time ago i spliced a rather large fan into my psu along with the stock fan and it blew my pcs brains, which sucked...

thanks

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

As far as I know, the amps won't make a difference. And as for splicing in a new fan, just make sure that they are running on the same voltage (5v, 12v).
