This week is final week for many college students and finals are over for me. Today, I was able to test my incredible set of Gskill 2x256mb LA kit which I got from a buddy at school. This guy did 350Mhz with this LA kit on his DFI SLI-DR with 3-4-4-8 timing and 2.5-3-3-7 at 300Mhz, all at 1:1 1T
I'm running these modules on my Biostar M7NCG 400 which is a microATX NF2 motherboard. I couldn't past 210Mhz stable in SuperPI and 3D because of the ram voltage limited in the bios; max is 2.8v. Kingston HyperX BH-5 wouldn't run stable at 210 with 2.8v or the PQI Turbo also fails. Upping ram voltage in bios seems no help...which can conclude that this mobo undervolts the vdimm.
With Gskill, I'm able to break the 210Mhz barrier and hit all the way up to 230Mhz stable Memtest but not in Windows due to undervolt chipset voltage. With 225, I past 3Dmark and 32mb SuperPi benchmark with only 2.7v vdimm and 1.9v VDD.
Here are some shots of this breakthrough on microATX NF2:
