I think it might be leaking...

Actually its most likely nothing to do with a leak.

An er5 is a "low alarm" what it means is the:

"Input is below P25 for > P28 period

P25 is just your low absolute alarm set-point
P28 is the alarm delay

So you exceeded a set point(one of many monitored and variable with the mach1 controller) for a set period of time

So I would guess that you just got that sucker too cold with no load on it and the temp probe could not read and faulted to error.

Usually you get an alarm when you break -49 but there is load monitoring and such so it could just be that

If you want to check you just need to run it up again and hit the prg/mute button when you get that errored and the "beeeeeeeep" and it will still run without the beep. If your system stays on and frosty you are fine and that error should go away when you are under load.

You should be cautioned that if you are going to manipulate the evap head and the evap hose give that assembly time to warm up after frost testing. Copper is brittle to some extent when cold and is more mailable when given about a good 45min at room temp. People have cracked thier hoses bending and moving them when running/cold.

Hope this helps

I think i might have cracked my hose cause i can smell something funny come out of the hose when its running and i hear a hissing sound when i put my ear next to it.

Yes, sounds like a leak, sorry to hear it.

son of a b**ch i just took off the insolation around the hose and looked where i thought the leak was coming from and where the copper tube and the other tube meet theres a seal this is has 2 holes in it. cant be good.

The seal was covering up a cracked hose i wouder if this can be wielded.

Welded no, Brazed yes. You need to take the system off your computerter, discharge it and probably purge it with nitrogen, then Braze the leak, then vacume and refill with the refrigerant of your choice. You might have to attach shrader valves to the high and low side of the system as well so you can do this. I don't know if those units come with access ports.

You can probably get this all done by someone who does HVAC work, although they probably won't know much about how to charge a phase unit like this since the heat loads they deal with are so small.
