Convert normal image to one made of dots?

Anyone know of a way to quickly convert an image to one completely composed of dots? I have a logo that I want to put on the side of my new giant evaporative cooler, and I want to make it by drilling holes on the side of my cooler. I would like to be able to print the converted image, paste it on the side of my cooler and use it as a template for drilling.

i have a rasterbation of dave matthews all over my wall. 7x7 (sheets). i had an alotment of 300 pages and had 100 left at the end of the semester. i took advantage of it. it looks killer.

Some of those dots can be really tiny and if you look up close your eyes might go cross eyed and never go back!! Avoid rasterbation. Save your eyes!

As an April fools joke somebody rasterbated a poster of Hitler and put it up on the side of the school... Needless to say, the faculty wasn't very impressed.

I dont know if this will work, but have you tried to convert to grayscale and then down to 2 colour? one of the options (in PSP anyway) makes a very dotty picture (error diffusion?). If its already two tone, maybe different shades of gray produce different dot patters/density. Might work?
