Sound Sometimes?

I installed a Yamaha RPU 100 Tuner/Amp w/ speakers on a freinds system. I get sound when I use the FM tuner, but nothing when I play a CD. The system is as follows;
Dell 933mhz PII
256mg ram
SB Live Value
Pioneer DVD-CD rom
Sony Supressa 8x4x32 CDRW
Winamp (Default player)
MS Win ME

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Start->Programs->Creative->AudioHQ->Mixer->Make sure CD is enabled (small circle will be yellow under the slider if its on)

See if that works

Not to insult your intelligence or anything but did you plug in the CDROM audio cable?

Yes I did check the audio connection. Everything was hooked up correctly. Thanks for asking, I have pulled a few bonehead moves like that before. LOL
