I am trying to install two brand new 667mhz Slot Proccesors on a used dual slot processor motherboard and i was wondering if any of you guys no a a guide with pictures on how to do this. Pls post any comments or ideas, thanks for replying.
Thanks!!!!
Just push them in until they click if they have the support rail things, else they go in much like a PCI card, they are even slotted so you can't reverse them accidently.
it's quite easy, just like lego
you look at how the connector is keyed, then just plug it in
btw, make sure you plug the fans in ;)
PS WELCOME!!!!!!!!!!!
1. Remove the old CPU. Turn off your PC, unplug it, and remove the cover. Use an antistatic wrist strap to work with the processor modules.
Small levers hold the CPU cartridge in a frame. Press them both until they pop open. Grasp the cartridge firmly, carefully rock it from side to side until it loosens, and then gently pull it out of its frame.

3. Set the motherboard jumpers (older motherboards only). Most motherboards made in the past few years don't have jumpers. If yours does, however, set the jumpers to the maximum processor speed, even if it's considerably less than the upgrade processor's. The new CPU will still run at its maximum speed.
Remember to "Check It Out"
Before turning on your PC, double-check to confirm that the fan on the new processor is connected to power. Turn on your PC and make sure everything is running correctly. If your system won't start, switch it off and recheck that the new CPU is firmly seated in the slot or socket.
