View Full Version : What does it mean..
I load up my ASUS Probe, it monitors Voltage...
Everything is in range except my 12v. It says 12v out of Threshold... voltage is measured around 13.248+/- .1 (usually constant though)... what exactly does this mean and how do I fix this problem ?
Thanks

Mate,
I'd recommend you try speedfan or motherboard monitor to double check this.

What PSU and MoBo do you have?
ASUS A7N8X Deluxe
AMD 2500+ Barton
Aspire 550W Chameleon PSU (http://aspireusa.net/product.php?pi...41fb9e0e6352039)
Radeon 9700 PRO

Mate,
The ASUS A7N8X Deluxe in some cases has problems reading voltages correctly. It could be your sensor chips or it could be ASUS Probe. Did you try speedfan and MBM?
yeah the MBM 5 reads my +12v at around 12.46v and my -12v at 13.02v I dunno if thats good or not, I take it thats usually normal ?

Use a DMM.

Clearly, your -12V line is way off :)
This looks like a problem with the voltage sensor. If you have a spare PSU, connect it and see if you get the same funny reading. 12V @ 12.46 is not too bad. Nothing to worry about.
I'm not familiar with the PSU you are using, but you could measure the voltages by using a DMM. I think you need to short certain pins on the 20Pin cable to do this. You may want to pm Oklahoma Wolf or Larva regarding this. These guys are the resident PSU experts.

Test the voltages while the machine is idle and under load. You can get the 12 and 5 rails from a molex, and 3.3 from a spare SATA power cable if you have one.
